Effective for the summer and fall 2019 registration period, students will begin using their new “Student Profile” to view grades, view their advisor contact information, look up classes, prepare registration plans (ahead of their registration date) and register for classes. The “Student Profile” provides students with a user and mobile friendly view of the biographical and academic information that is on their student record. This information is fed directly from Banner in the same way as it is for iAdvise.
Student Records will continue to support the previous registration process for this registration cycle only, but encourage students and advisors to familiarize themselves with the new process prior to the start of registration. Training documentation can be found by clicking on the “Learn about Student Profile” icon located under the “MyCampus” heading on the right-hand side of the “MyCanisius” portal. Registration dates are available on the academic calendar or in the advisement guide, which is located on the portal under the Schedule and Registration Heading.
Please note that Student Records will be rolling out an “Advisor Profile” later in the year as part of the Degreeworks degree audit implementation. In the “Advisor Profile”, advisors will be able to view advisee student profiles and registration plans that they have created in their Student Profiles.
By building registration plans ahead of time, students are able to discuss them with their advisor, and registering from a plan is much quicker than our current process! In addition, students can create multiple plans in order to have backup options quickly available to them.
