Betty Jean Grant, former Erie County Legislator
The Women & Gender Studies program invites the campus community to the annual Lorch Awards celebration on Wednesday, March 27 at 5:00 p.m. in the Grupp Fireside Lounge.
The Dr. I. Joan Lorch Award for Women & Gender Studies honors a person who has made a significant contribution to women, and who exemplifies the pursuit of liberation and justice regarding sex, gender and sexuality.
Award winners in the following categories are:
Canisius Student Award: Margaret Treichler ’19 and Joy Riso ’18
Canisius Colleague Award: Jennifer Desiderio, PhD, associate professor of English
Community Award: Betty Jean Grant, former Erie County Legislator (pictured above)
The event is free and open to the public. Drinks, appetizers and cake will be served. Each award winner will deliver a brief speech at the event. Congratulations to all of the honorees.
