ArtsCanisius will welcome Laura Watts, PhD, associate professor of art history at Daemen College, on Thursday, March 7 at 12:00 p.m. in the Regis Room for an art history lecture entitled “Regional Academies and Artistic Politics: Naples, Rome and Milan in 19th Century Painting.”

Watts will discuss the work of Tommaso Minard, Francesco Hayez and Gioacchino Toma and their stylistic developments achieved through their relationship with the regional academies in Naples, Rome and Milan.

The event is free and open to the public.
