The Physical and Health Education Teacher Education (P/HETE) program hosted a workshop from The First Tee of Western New York (WNY) on Tuesday, November 27. The presenters, Janet Battaglia, Kayla Burt and Steve Lancon, provided information to teacher candidates about the game of golf and its inherent values to young people through after- and in-school programs and on-course life skills classes. Students from Clancy Seymour’s “Teaching Methods of Physical Education” class attended the training. The session concluded with hands-on curriculum ideas and lesson tasks for teacher candidates to apply and utilize in the future. The event was well received and benefited P/HETE majors both in readiness for teaching and employment opportunities.
