Please join the College of Arts and Sciences to communally celebrate the work of one of our faculty members, Sue Margulis, PhD, chair and professor of ABEC and biology, at the next Colloquia presentation and wine and cheese reception. Margulis will present “Walking on the Wild Side: Field Work, Exploration and Growth in South Africa” on Thursday, November 15 at 3:30 p.m. in Grupp Fireside Lounge.
Every student studying animal behavior dreams of visiting Africa, of being Jane Goodall and of living with and learning about wildlife. The reality of field work is often quite different from these idealized expectations. These trips introduce students to various methods and techniques for studying wildlife and expose them to a more global perspective on conservation. The impact of this trip on students’ personal growth and professional development and the research opportunities it can afford are substantial (and well-worth the 15-hour flight).
All are welcome!
