This past month, as part of the effort to re-engage Strong Community School partners, Anibal Soler, associate superintendent for the Office of Strategic Alignment and Innovation, met with local representatives of higher education. He shared the progress the Buffalo Public Schools (BPS) are making in our community schools with John Hurley, president of Canisius College and Lorrie Clemo, PhD, president of D’Youville College.

Also in attendance were representatives of Say Yes Buffalo, Bryant & Stratton, Trocaire, UB School of Education, Medaille College and Buffalo State College. As BPS enters the third full school year of the Education Bargain, continuing to focus on “getting better and breaking through,” Soler has asked the college partners to re-engage with the community schools as all continue to strengthen those partnerships.
