The Higher Education and Student Affairs Administration (HESAA) at Canisius would like to share its 2019-20 graduate assistant timeline with your department, school or division if it plans to host a HESAA student as a graduate assistant next academic year. If so, please have the person who will be supervising that position fill out this form. These positions are funded by the respective division, department or school and will be posted on the HESAA program website in an effort to highlight to prospective students the possible opportunities. Actual position descriptions are not necessary until the end of the fall semester. Prospective students will come to campus on Friday, February 22 to interview for these positions. 2019–20 Graduate Assistantship Timeline
Fill out this brief form with all anticipated 2019–20 Graduate Assistant Openings (no job descriptions are necessary until December and will be notated, as anticipated openings)
Tuesday, November 6 – anticipated openings will begin to be listed on HESAA website for prospective students (as positions come in, more will be added)
Tuesday, November 6 – return to Position Intent Form given to first year HESAA students to have conversations with supervisors
Tuesday, December 4 – HESAA Graduate Assistant return to Position Intent Form due to HESAA Program Director
Monday, December 10 – deadline for anticipated openings job descriptions to be sent to hesaa@canisius.edu
Saturday, December 15 – anticipated openings listed on HESAA website with job descriptions
Friday, February 1 – deadline to apply for admission to the HESAA program to take part in the assistantship day interview process
Friday, February 8 – deadline to register for assistantship day and submit cover letter and resume
Wednesday, February 13 – materials available for graduate assistantship supervisors
Thursday, February 21 – Friday, February 22 – assistantship days (interviews will take place on February 22)
*Please note that for candidates that are not able to attend assistantship day, all phone/video interviewing should be completed by Monday, February 25
Friday, February 22 – assistantship day and candidate choice paperwork submitted by the end of the day
Monday, February 25 – Friday, March 1 – HESAA program director in touch with site supervisors about candidate preferences
Monday, March 4 – Friday, March 8 – offers extended to candidates by the HESAA program director (offers should not be extended by site supervisors to prospective students unless cleared by HESAA program director to ensure the process remains fair)
