The Canisius College International Relations Program welcomed 400 students from 21 area high schools to campus for the 40th Annual High School Model United Nations Conference yesterday, Thursday, November 1. Student-delegates represented countries from around the world and discussed and attempted to formulate resolutions on pressing issues of the day, including but not limited to the migration crisis, the destabilization of Venezuela, the plight of Rohingya Muslims and the effect of European secularism on religion minorities.

Canisius in the News

Members of the local media were in attendance Thursday, November 1 when Canisius President John Hurley and eight other Catholic lay people announced the creation of an initiative to rebuild trust and confidence in the Catholic Church.  The announcement comes in the wake of what the group termed “shocking disclosures” about the Diocese’s handling of sex abuse cases involving clergy in Buffalo.

Last Chance for Faculty-Staff Hockey Tickets

The Canisius Athletic Department’s annual Faculty – Staff Night at the HARBORCENTER will take place Saturday, November 3. Canisius will host Atlantic Hockey foe American International College (AIC) in a 7:35 p.m. game.

Complimentary tickets are available for all faculty and staff and can be picked up at the Human Resources Office today, Friday, November 2. Tickets will also be available at HARBORCENTER the night of the game with a valid Canisius ID.
