The fall 2018 semester offers a brand new musical opportunity to all Canisius College students – the inaugural semester for the Canisius College Arabic Drumming Ensemble. Directed by percussion instructor, Bob Accurso, the group is open to drummers and drumming enthusiasts of all levels. The ensemble will explore and perform traditional rhythms from the Middle East and Northern Africa. Participants will learn essential rhythms and techniques on a variety of the most commonly used drums. Don’t own a drum but would like to play? There will be drums available for you to use. Never played anything like this before? Here’s your chance to learn in a relaxed and fun atmosphere. There is still time to get in on this opportunity. Join us today, Wednesday, September 26 at 6:30 p.m. in the Montante Cultural Center. Join what is sure to become one of the coolest musical ensembles on campus.
