The Institute for Classical and Medieval Studies (ICMS) is pleased to offer two courses this fall. “The Seven Wonders: Ancient & Modern,” offered Wednesdays beginning September 12, will examine ancient texts, explorers’ accounts and modern archaeological investigations to understand the lives and afterlives of these monuments.
“Crown, Sword and Charter: Making the Monarchy,” offered Thursdays beginning October 11, will explore the medieval foundations of kingship and consider the survival of royal traditions and institutions into modern times. Click on the link for times and more details.
Enrollment is open to anyone in the Buffalo community interested in learning. The courses do not require papers or tests but will be filled with good discussions! Courses are not part of any Canisius College degree program. All classes meet on campus in Science Hall 1017. Parking is available. Each six-session course costs $60.
