Canisius forward Dylan McLaughlin ᾽19 was invited to the NHL’s New York Rangers development camp, which begins Monday. He led the Golden Griffins in goals last season and was the Atlantic Hockey Player of the Year.

Sydnie Perkins ᾽16, on-campus recruitment counselor in the Griff Center for Academic Engagement, released her first solo album, “I Love You Lord!” Perkins’ album is on sale now in select stores and online for $10.
Perkins can’t remember a time when she didn’t sing. She thanks God for giving her such a gift and the courage and confidence to share it. She credits Béyonce as her greatest musical influence.

Massachusetts Avenue Mobile Market Starts Today
Enjoy fresh fruits and vegetables this summer
Canisius Sustainability Initiative will sponsor the Massachusetts Avenue Project (MAP) Mobile Market (MAP) this summer. MAP offers affordable and fresh vegetables and fruits during the growing season. They will be visiting campus five times this summer, from 11 a.m. – 1:00 p.m., the first being today, Wednesday, June 27 at the Health Science Lot located at East Delavan and Spillman Ave. They will return July 25, August 22, September 26 and October 24.
MAP partners with local organizations to bring produce into areas of Buffalo where access to healthy, affordable and fresh food is limited. The nonprofit also operates a farm stand at its urban farm – which will soon include a new farmhouse and Community Food Training Center – at 387 Massachusetts Ave.
While you are there, swing by to see the developments at the East West Community Garden, 1032 Lafayette, near Main. Pick up some local strawberries from Breymiller Farm Market which is selling fresh picked strawberries on Tuesdays and Thursday from 12 p.m. – 6 p.m., while they are in season, at Main and Lafayette.

COLI Summer Faculty Meetup Tonight
Online and Hybrid Coursework
The Center for Online Learning and Innovation (COLI) invites online and hybrid instructors to a meetup tonight, Wednesday, June 27 from 6:00 ‒ 7:30 p.m. in the Library Learning Center Classroom.
For more than a decade, Canisius College faculty have taught high quality online and hybrid courses. In the process, our professors have pioneered methods in this relatively new medium for teaching and learning.
During the meetup, we can share our experiences in, reflections on, and ambitions for teaching online. Rather than having a formal presentation, faculty should come as colleagues to share their insights and concerns. In your online courses, what worked for you? What didn’t? How do you measure your success? What would you like to do teaching online that you’re not doing now, either because you’re still planning or building it, or because you face an obstacle of some sort?
We also invite any faculty interested in teaching online or hybrid classes, but who have not yet done so. Please bring your questions for our seasoned veteran online faculty, and gain valuable insights from those who have built excellent online courses.

Athletics Director Bill Maher talks sports and the Holy Spirit on “Crossroads”
Canisius College Athletics Director Bill Maher will be the featured guest on the next edition of “Crossroads,” scheduled for broadcast on Sunday, July 1.
The focus of this month’s program is “Giving the Best of Yourself,” the Vatican’s new document on sport and the human person. Maher will share his perspective on how sports can be an instrument of encounter, formation, mission and sanctification.
“Crossroads” is a monthly radio program produced by the Network of Religious Communities and hosted by Rev. Patrick Lynch, SJ, professor of religious studies and theology. It airs on the first Sunday of each month at 6:00 a.m. on MIX-96 (96.1 FM) and at 6:30 a.m. on JACK-FM (92.9).

Stop the Bleed Training
Learn life-saving skills
Stop the Bleed Training will be held on Wednesday, July 25, 2018 from 1 p.m. – 2 p.m. in the Regis Room North. This training teaches you three actions that can control a victim’s bleeding until emergency responders arrive.
Learn how to help in a bleeding emergency and save a life. All members of the campus are invited to attend.
Training is being offered by Student Health and the Erie County Medical Center.
