Canisius student Natalia Christiano ᾿19 was one of only two students in New York State to receive the GEICO Achievement Award.
Natalia is a business major boasting a 3.70 grade point average. She is an active student as president and treasurer of the college’s concert band – she plays the flute – and a member of the Women in Business Club for aspiring business leaders.
“Natalia is a shining example of what it means to be a Canisius student,” said President John Hurley. “She lives the lessons of her Catholic Jesuit education. She is intelligent, compassionate and committed to serving the needs of others. “
Natalia devotes time to service as well. She is a middle school youth leader for girls at her local church and a Teacher’s Desk volunteer, where she works to provide school supplies for children in need.
GEICO Achievement Award recipients are recognized for dedication to academic success, leadership and community service.
