Crucial Games this Weekend at Demske

Cheer on lacrosse and baseball teams

Both men’s and women’s lacrosse and baseball have crucial home conference contests this weekend that have playoff implications for all three Golden Griffin squads.

Men’s lacrosse gets things started Friday afternoon, April 20 when they host Manhattan at 4 p.m. at the Demske Sports Complex. The Griffs are holding onto the final playoff spot in the MAAC with a 2-2 league record, one half game ahead of Marist. Manhattan is 0-4. Each team plays six conference games.

Women’s lacrosse hosts their alumni game Saturday morning, April 21 at 8:30 a.m., before meeting Fairfield at 11 a.m. Your Griffs control their own destiny with a 5-1 MAAC record. Fairfield is 3-2 in conference play. Canisius only has second place Niagara remaining on its schedule after Saturday’s clash with the Stags.

Baseball wraps up the weekend’s activities with a three-game set against league leading Quinnipiac. Canisius is 9-3 in the MAAC while Quinnipiac is 8-1. Saturday’s doubleheader starts at 2:30, while the game on Sunday, April 22 begins at noon.
