Students in the physical and health education/teacher education (PHETE) program collaborated with the physical education (PE) program at Buffalo Public School No. 17 on Tuesday, April 10. Teacher candidates from Dr. Clancy Seymour’s Assessment in Physical Education (PED 371/571) class implemented the PE metrics assessment protocol for four physical education classes (K-4 children). The students of School No. 17 were very excited and the exercise proved to be a great learning experience. The classes provided PHETE majors with the opportunity to apply assessment strategies that are useful for grades K-12. Special thanks to Phil Smith ’13 and Tricia Vezina, physical education teachers at BPS No. 17, for coordinating this event.
