The Jesuit Association of Student Personnel Administrators (JASPA) honored Sandra Estanek, PhD, professor emerita of graduate education and leadership, with the 2018 JASPA Scholarship Award. The award “recognizes distinguished contributions to scholarship and literature in the areas of Jesuit and Catholic student affairs work and higher education.” Estanek served as the lead editor and contributor to Student Life in Catholic Higher Education: Advancing Good Practice, which was published in 2017. Estanek also received this award in 2008 for her leadership in the creation of the Principles of Good Practice in Student Affairs at Catholic Colleges and Universities. Estanek retired as director of the master’s program in higher education and student affairs administration in December. She currently is chairing the college’s Jesuit Mission Examen self-study process.
