Pictured above is the Canisius contingent who lobbied legislators to increase funding for financial aid for students from private colleges and universities.

A delegation of Canisius students traveled to Albany on Tuesday, February 13 for New York State Student Aid Alliance Advocacy Day.

They joined more than 1,100 students from 70 colleges to advocate for student aid for private institutions through the Commission on Independent Colleges and Universities (CICU). Students from both the Undergraduate Student Association (USA) and the Higher Education Opportunity (HEOP) Program represented Canisius.

The Canisius contingent asked legislators to continue their support of all New York State college students by increasing funding for TAP and other financial aid programs. The group also met with their local legislators to advocate for aid for our Canisius students.
