Men’s Basketball Watch Party at (716) Set for Tonight, Jan. 19
Wear your Griffs gear and enjoy food specials and prizes
(716) Food and Sport hosts a “Big 4 College Basketball Watch Party” tonight, Friday, January 19, as Canisius, UB and St. Bonaventure all play nationally televised games on the ESPN family of networks. The watch party starts at 7 p.m., and runs through the conclusion of the Canisius – Manhattan men’s basketball game which tips off at 9 p.m. on ESPNU. (716) Food and Sport is located at 7 Scott Street, Buffalo, inside HARBORCENTER.
At 7 p.m., UB plays at Western Michigan on ESPNU, while St. Bonaventure plays at Davidson on ESPN2. The Golden Griffins’ game at Manhattan wraps up the TV tripleheader. Canisius fans are encouraged to wear Griffs gear, as the staff at (716) hands out prizes and offers food specials to those wearing their school’s colors.
Canisius, which has won seven of its last eight games, is 11-9 overall and 5-1 in MAAC play after beating Monmouth at home January 15, by the score of 94-79. This marks the best start to league play for Canisius since the 2013-14 season.

Swim and Dive Teams Host Final Home Meet This Weekend
Canisius square off against Niagara
Want to witness intense competition where wins and losses are captured in fractions of seconds? Do you like to watch a sporting event where the athletes scream and yell as loud as the spectators? Then check out the annual Canisius vs. Niagara men’s and women’s swimming and diving meet at the ECC Flickinger Center this Saturday afternoon, January 20. Yes, it’s downtown as the KAC pool isn’t large enough to contain the enthusiasm and excitement this competition delivers. Competition starts at 1 p.m. as your Griffs have their final home meet of the season before hosting the MAAC Championship in mid-February.
If you and/or your family enjoy watching the swimming and diving events every four years at the Olympics, then don’t miss this competition. Some of the top swimmers in the MAAC are in the water and on the boards, so arrive on time and catch all the exciting action. No admission charge to watch, however you can spend a couple of bucks in our Chuck-a-Duck competition at one of the intermissions.

The lecture takes place on Monday, January 22 from 7 ‒ 9 p.m. in the Science Hall Commons. Learn how science and medicine can work across national barriers.

Free Yoga is Back This Semester!
Join your colleagues to relax and restore
Are you looking for a way to incorporate activity, mindfulness and stress reduction into your workday? Look no further, because the Human Resources Department is once again sponsoring a yoga class during the Spring 2018 semester! All faculty and staff are invited to attend the class for an hour of relaxing, restorative Hatha Yoga. Classes, led by Madonna McKernon, executive associate, Student Life, run for eight weeks and begin on Tuesday, January 23. There is no cost for this program.
If you have never attended a yoga class before, this is a great opportunity to learn, as the class will focus on practicing the fundamentals of yoga. Of course, those with experience are more than welcome as well, as this provides the opportunity to deepen and refine your practice! Mats are provided for the class but make sure to wear comfortable clothing. Together, the class will enjoy the gentle, restorative gifts of Hatha Yoga as they stretch, breathe, create space within, release tension, and relax.
All classes are on Tuesdays from 5:00 ‒ 6:00 pm for the following dates and locations.

Access programming for young professionals
Canisius hosts BN360 on campus on Friday, January 26 at 10 a.m. in Lyons Hall 118. Because Canisius is a gold level partner of Buffalo Niagara 360, there are many benefits for young professionals on campus. BN360 hosts events and creates programming that is focused on professional growth and development opportunities. As an employee of the college, you can access all of these programs and events for free! Rachael Herrmann from the Buffalo Niagara Partnership shares more information on how to be an involved member and showcases all of the great events provided to BN360 members.
