Nominations are being accepted for the 2018 I. Joan Lorch Award for Women & Gender Studies.  This award honors a person who has made a significant contribution to women and who exemplifies the pursuit of liberation and justice regarding sex, gender and sexuality. The three categories are: (1) Student award: honors current undergraduate or graduate students at Canisius; (2) Canisius colleague award: honors current Canisius employees (faculty, staff, or administrators — full or part time), and; (3) Community member award: honors those who are not a current student or employee of the college. Deadline for nominations is February 1, 2018. Nominations should be submitted using the website link listed below.  All nominations should indicate the award category in which the person is being nominated and also include a 200-300 word justification for why the nominee is a deserving recipient of a Lorch award.

There are a number of exciting events planned for Women´s History Month– stay tuned!  Lorch award winners are honored as part of the Women´s History Month celebration.
