On Friday, November 17, 2017, Canisius College and Academic Talent Search welcomed 72 students from McKinley High School and Buffalo Academy of Visual and Performing Arts for Canisius College Day αΎ½17. The students attended informative workshops focusing on the college experience here at Canisius. The group received information about the application process, enjoyed a tour of the campus and had lunch in the dining hall.
Academic Talent Search is one of five federally funded TRiO programs established under Title IV of the Higher Education Act of 1965. Academic Talent Search at Canisius College serves approximately 600 youth who are recruited from area schools and community service organizations. Its mission is to assist and support underrepresented youth in realizing the educational opportunities that lead to enrollment in post-secondary institutions of higher learning.
