Traci Murphy, associate athletic director

Traci Murphy oversees programs to help ensure student-athletes succeed in the classroom and in sports. She appreciates being part of a collective mission to shape the future of Canisius students.

“I truly value the college’s commitment to the development of the whole student, the effort everyone makes to help students be successful and the genuine level of caring for one another,” says Traci.

She is known among her colleagues for her strong convictions but also for being receptive to collaboration.

“My door is always open,” says Traci. “I am always working and striving to make the department better.”

She attends all Canisius athletic events, concert band and jazz band concerts as well as lectures on campus. Traci volunteers for the RHA Thanksgiving Dinner and works with Mary Wilson, wife of the late Ralph Wilson, for the United Way’s Western New York Girls in Sports program. The effort encourages girls to get involved in sports to learn life lessons.

In her spare time, Traci enjoys reading, camping and traveling with her family.

Did you know..? A transplant from Louisiana, Traci is an experienced tailgate caterer.  The athletics staff looks forward to the Cajun Jambalaya that Traci and her husband, Pat, make for their famous Bills Tailgate Parties.
