Peter J. Galie, PhD, professor emeritus of political science, co-wrote a commentary in The Buffalo News Viewpoints section on Sunday, October 29 about whether voters should approve a Constitutional convention on November 7.

Welcome to Canisius

This month, Canisius College welcomed four new staff members to campus.

Matthew Gorczyca ’15 is the assistant director of the Canisius Fund. Previously, Matthew worked at Hilbert College as the assistant director of annual giving and alumni engagement.

Brandi Banks ’13 is a graduate admissions counselor. Brandi comes to the college from the YMCA Buffalo Niagara, where she worked as a community relations manager.

Samantha Palma is an admissions counselor. Previously, Samantha worked as an assistant men’s and women’s swimming coach at Ashland University in Ohio. Samantha also worked at Canisius from 2011-2014 as an assistant coach for swimming and diving.

Lauren Barry is a programmer analyst in the ITS Department. Lauren worked at Wyndham Worldwide and has a background in software design and engineering.

Additionally, we have had an internal position change in the month of October. Maggie Burkard accepted the position of academic affairs support manager.

Please join the Human Resources Department in welcoming our new staff to campus.

Blue and Gold Fridays

Our weekly Blue and Gold winner is Laurie Hennessy, administrative operations coordinator for the Department of Athletics, who submitted a photo of the women’s soccer team (pictured to the left). Kudos Laurie!

 

 

 

 

And congratulations to our October Fan(s) of the Month, who were chosen by random drawing. They are (pictured left) JoAnn Feary, office manager for the Controller’s Office, Laura Moeller, data and credentials specialist for the School of Education and Human Services and Sharon Federico, assistant to the vice presidents for student affairs and business and finance. They will each receive a $10 gift card to Tim Hortons.
