Volleyball and Women’s Soccer Host Games

Cheer on your Griffs this weekend

2017-18-vb-4Your Canisius volleyball and women’s soccer teams share the spotlight this weekend with games on campus.

The volleyball squad hosts a pair of MAAC matches. The Griffs meet Fairfield at 1 p.m. on Saturday, September 30 and then host Quinnipiac at the same time on Sunday, October 1 in the Koessler Athletic Center.

The women’s soccer team takes to the Demske Sports Complex at 1 p.m. Saturday when the Fairfield Stags pay a visit to Buffalo.

Tune into “Crossroads”

Wadkins is featured guest in discussion about his new book and the revival of the Protestant-Evangelical spirit of El Salvador

wadkinsBe sure to tune into “Crossroads” this Sunday, October 1, when Religious Studies & Theology Professor Timothy H. Wadkins, PhD, will be the featured guest.

Program host Rev. Patrick J. Lynch, SJ, interviews Wadkins about his new book, The Rise of Pentecostalism in Modern El Salvador, and the circumstances that prompted him to write it.  The discussion will include Wadkins’ insight into the revival of the Protestant-Evangelical spirit in El Salvador, the divided response of this movement by the Catholic Church, and the different types of Pentecostal churches in El Salvador.

“Crossroads” is a monthly radio program produced by the Network of Religious Communities.  It airs on the first Sunday of each month at 6:00 a.m. on MIX-96 (96.1 FM) and at 6:30 a.m. on JACK-FM (92.9).

If you miss Sunday’s broadcast, the October edition will be available on the Canisius SoundCloud beginning Monday, October 2.

Canisius Hockey to Host Faculty and Staff Night at HARBORCENTER

Get two complimentary tickets and beverage vouchers

faculty-staff-nightCheer on the Griffs as they play Robert Morris on Friday, October 13 at 7:35 p.m.

Faculty and staff are eligible for two free general admission tickets and complimentary non-alcoholic drink vouchers with college ID.

Tickets are available in the Human Resources Office, Old Main Room 100, during normal business hours from October 2 through 13. Additional tickets may be purchased in advance at the Koessler Athletic Center box office or at HARBORCENTER the night of the game.

The first 1000 fans in attendance will receive replica championship banners.
