Hear Angela Washko discuss her game/dating simulator

DigitalThe Digital Humanities Speaker Series begins for the 2017-18 year by welcoming digital artist Angela Washko to campus on Tuesday, September 19 at 4 p.m. in Lyons Hall 418.  Washko will discuss her project “The Game: The Game 2.0,” a video game/dating simulator that she says explores “the complexity of the construction of social behaviors around dating as well as the experience of being a femme-presenting individual navigating this complicated terrain.”  Washko’s work is featured in a solo exhibit at Squeaky Wheel from September 15 to December 9.

To learn more about this and related events, see the Digital Humanities Group site here.

Men’s and Women’s Soccer Teams in Action this Weekend

Enjoy a free alternative to the Bills game

M. Soccer #2Don’t have a need to watch the Bills home opener? Looking to soak in some sunshine while watching NCAA Division I soccer? Then come by the Demske Sports Complex, enjoy a hot dog and cold drink, and watch your men’s and women’s teams battle regional opponents.

The men get things started at 1 p.m. on Sunday, September 10 with a contest against Central Connecticut State. The women finish the day’s action with a 4 p.m. tilt versus St. Bonaventure. The men are off to a 2-1 start, while the women are 3-2. Both teams have away games on Friday night.

There is no admission charge for soccer (much less expensive than an NFL game!). For more information, visit www.GoGriffs.com.
