Created in 2007 by Bryant and Joan Prentice, the Prentice Family Foundation leverages economic development through scholarship support to ultimately make a multi-generational impact on Western New York. WNYPF at Canisius develops and encourages students to stay in Western New York and ultimately make an economic impact via job creation. Canisius is one of two participants in the program and the Prentice Family Foundation’s gift is the largest in the college’s annual fund.

The WNY Prosperity Fellowship is unique in that it combines scholarships and pays for unfunded internships as well as network and skill-building opportunities throughout the year. These opportunities are designed to enhance fellow connections to the business world allowing students to find mentors in the business community. Creating these lasting connections will encourage students to stay in WNY upon graduation.
