Canisius hosts Rider at the Demske Sports complex this weekend for a doubleheader on Saturday, April 22 beginning at 12:00 p.m. and a single game scheduled on Sunday, April 23 for 12:00 p.m.
It’s nearing crunch time in the college baseball season as teams battle for playoff position. The top six teams make the MAAC playoffs, which will be held this year for the very first time in Western New York. Sal Maglie Stadium will host the six team, double-elimination event May 24-27.
With a 20-15 overall record and a 4-5 mark in the league play, Canisius sits one game out of the final playoff spot as the season reaches the halfway point this weekend. Rider’s recent three-game sweep over Niagara vaulted the Broncs into second place with an 8-4 MAAC record.
