ArtsCanisius is hosting a performance by Buffalo Brass on Friday, April 21 at 7:30 p.m. in the Montante Cultural Center.  Buffalo Brass is directed by Nick DelBello, adjunct trumpet professor, fine arts. The concert “Powerful Percussion” will feature the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra’s principal timpanist, Matt Bassett as a soloist.  The concert program includes Tanner’s Concerto for Timpani and Brass, as well as two works by American composers Elliot Carter and Eric Ewazen. Tickets for this concert are $10 and can be purchased at the door.

Saturday, April 22 features the Canisius College Concert Band directed by Paul D. Biddle. This concert is at 6:00 p.m. (please note the updated concert time) and is free and open to the public. The program features a wide range of musical styles from Rimsky-Korsakov’s classic “Flight of the Bumblebee” featuring Miyoko Ito ’17 as soloist, to Dixie-land Jazz and standard repertoire for Concert Band.
