Canisius College announced the 2017 recipients of its Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. (MLK) Award.

This honor recognizes Canisius community members, students and non-students, who demonstrate qualities promoting social justice, racial harmony, civil rights, advocacy for the poor, or change through non-violence.

This year’s Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Award recipients are Sarah Signorino, assistant director of campus ministry and Alie Iwanenko ’17, a senior international relations, Spanish and Latin American studies major.

Honorees will be recognized during the Canisius College Spring Honors Convocation in May.
