The paintings, prints, photographs, drawings and constructions in this exhibition, drawn from the extensive collection of Gerald Mead, well-known collector in Buffalo, are each smaller than seven inches. Due to their size, they become more intimate works of art that encourage inspection of their complexity and detail.
Gerald Mead is an award-winning artist, educator, writer and leading authority on Western New York art. He is currently an independent curator and serves on the boards of several arts organizations in Buffalo.
Mead also lent works from his collection to major exhibitions at the Albright-Knox Art Gallery, Burchfield Penney Art Center, Castellani Art Museum, UB Art Galleries, Buffalo Arts Studio, the CEPA Contemporary Photography and Visual Arts Center, and Hallwalls Contemporary Arts Center.
