Nicolas Lorgnier, PhD, associate professor of kinesiology, received a €4,000 ($4,500) grant from the French Olympic Committee in order to expand his research on value congruence. The study makes the hypothesis that the fit between the values of the Olympic movement and the values of the public has an impact on the perceived quality of the Olympic brand.

The research involved undergraduate students in sport management during spring 2016 and continued to be collected in the United States this fall. The Olympic grant will allow Lorgnier to expand his research to France in spring 2017. Lorgnier will compare the findings and present the results to executive members of the French Olympic Committee and fellow academic researchers in summer 2017.
