A Christmas Mass will be offered at 11:30 a.m. in Christ the King Chapel on Thursday, December 22, followed by the employee Christmas luncheon from noon – 1:30 p.m. in the Peter Gust Economou Dining Hall. Please take this time to visit with and enjoy the company of our college community as we come together to celebrate Christmas and the blessings of our friends and co-workers.
In the spirit of giving, members of the Canisius community attending the luncheon are asked to bring a non-perishable food item(s) to benefit the St. Luke’s Mission of Mercy Food Pantry. Look for the drop-off bins inside the Dining Hall.
St. Luke’s is an independent mission based in the Roman Catholic tradition that provides a variety of services to help those in need. In addition to the pantry, St. Luke’s serves between 400-600 people each day in their dining room and also operates a Mission Mall, homeless shelters and a Catholic grammar school. For more information on St. Luke’s and ways in which you can help, please contact Joe Van Volkenburg in Campus Ministry.
No RSVP is necessary and all but essential employees are released to begin their holiday immediately following the luncheon. Happy Holidays!
