Canisius President John J. Hurley joined the presidents of the Association of Jesuit Colleges and Universities (AJCU) in signing a statement in support of undocumented students. Read the AJCU statement here.
In a message to the Canisius community earlier this month, President Hurley urged all employees of the college to reach out to any undocumented students on campus and offer them cura personalis, the Jesuit characteristic of care for the whole person that includes respect for all that makes up each individual. He asked that any process or requirements that conflict with the college’s obligations to these students be brought to his attention for remedial action.
