Hundreds of students enjoyed a sit-down Thanksgiving dinner last night sponsored by the Residence Hall Association (RHA).

Canisius staff members served students the Thanksgiving feast with all of the trimmings.

Kudos to Chartwells for cooking the delicious meal.

Get to Know…

IMG_1235“I find it both fulfilling and energizing to work with our students and my colleagues in student affairs. Our students are the life of our campus.  My colleagues are fully committed to the well-being of our students.”

Eileen A. Niland
Director of the Counseling Center

Eileen A. Niland has mentioned that her original intent was to spend two or three years at Canisius and then move on…but she fell in love with the college and our community and has dedicated (almost) half of her life to our students. Starting in the Office of Residence Life and then transitioning to the Counseling Center, Eileen has helped many students emerge from times of crisis and challenge, and move on to successful experiences at Canisius and beyond. Reflective, sincere, passionate about our Jesuit mission and its connection to the therapeutic process, Eileen brings a sense of joy to her work with both students and colleagues.

Did you know… Eileen has a passion for theatre. She is involved in community theatre through her parish group called the St. Stephen’s Parish Players.  Most recently she played the part of Prudy Pingleton in “Hairspray” and Golde in “Fiddler on the Roof.”

It’s a Bird, it’s a Plane, it’s a Drone!

You may see a drone flying over the Canisius campus today (Friday, November 18). The college has retained an engineering firm to perform a parking utilization study on campus, and will use a drone to capture images of parking patterns at the college.  In preparation of the study, the firm will conduct a test today to calibrate their equipment. The test will last approximately two hours and will be nonintrusive.

During the week of November 28, the drone will capture images of parking patterns over the course of two to three days.

Please call me with any questions at Ext. 2250.
