Canisius Magazine needs your help in identifying the college’s best and brightest young alumni.

Our spring/summer 2017 edition of Canisius Magazine will feature the inaugural Griffs Under 40 list.  We will recognize 40 of the college’s most innovative, inspiring and impressive young graduates who are using their Jesuit, Catholic education to make a difference in the world.

To be eligible for selection, nominees must be 39 years or younger as of June 1, 2017, and they must have received a degree (undergraduate or graduate) from Canisius College.  Editors will feature individuals who demonstrate success in their professions and/or through their community advocacy.

We realize that choosing only 40 of our young graduates will be an extremely difficult task.  Please keep in mind when submitting nominations to choose those who are doing extraordinary things at a young age.  For instance, Adam Zyglis ’04 is a Pulitzer Prize-winning cartoonist for The Buffalo News.  Chris Manhertz ’14, MS ’14 is a tight end for the NFL’s Carolina Panthers. Also keep in mind those alumni/alumnae who are successful in their careers, and are also devoted to community service.  Venzella Joy Williams ’10 is a drummer for pop singer Beyoncé, who also presents inspirational talks to at-risk youth across the country. And Peter Tassini ’10 was recently ordained a priest.

Tell us about alumni who have a unique story to tell.  Like finance graduate Drew Monti ’16, who landed a job with a top financial firm and is also a successful harness racing driver at Batavia Downs.  Or Alana Keppler ’12, a management and entrepreneurship major, who is a fifth-generation farmer using her education to run the family’s beef operation.

Please click here to nominate someone for Griffs Under 40.  Nominations must be received by January 31, 2017.
