Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra Performs on Campus

fallettaDon’t miss this year’s performance of the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra (BPO) in the Montante Cultural Center on Tuesday, November 15 at 7:30 p.m.

This year, the BPO is led by JoAnn Falletta in a performance of works by Mozart, Faure, Vivaldi, Whitacre and a new work by Western New York composer Rob Deemer.  The BPO will be joined by our very own Canisius College Chorale, directed by Frank Scinta and soloists Cristen Gregory, soprano and Melissa Thorburn, mezzo-soprano, both of whom are adjunct professors in the Fine Arts/Music Department.

Deemer’s work features soloists  Anna Mattix, English hornist with the BPO and Canadian Danielle Buonaiuto, soprano and adjunct professor in the Fine Arts/Music Department.

The BPO will be recording Deemer’s performance for use on their next “Built for Buffalo” album featuring music written for members of the orchestra.

Tickets are $25 general admission and $12 for students. They can be purchased in the Fine Arts Office, LY 406, online at www.canisius.edu/artscanisius-tickets as well as at the door.
