028Mark J. Piatkowski
Assistant Director, Student Life

Over the past 11 years, Mark Piatkowski has dedicated countless hours serving as an advocate for graduate and undergraduate students.  As the assistant director for the Office of Student Life, he has committed himself to supervising, mentoring and developing graduate students in the College Student Personnel Administration Program in becoming professionals and leaders in the field of higher education.

While most days Mark is a vibrant and boisterous cheerleader for students, especially the resident assistants, we cannot fail to mention the most glamorous part of his job, responding to bad decisions made by students at 2:00 a.m. Regardless of the situation, Mark is willing to assist wherever and whenever needed.  From committee work to a new programming venture, Mark’s can-do attitude is present and contagious.

Mark’s commitment to living the Magis extends beyond Canisius.  He is a devoted husband to his wife, Amy, and a father. On most days you can find him taking care of items on his “honey do” list or building a play set for his daughter, Maya.

Did you know… Mark is a three-time Canisius College alum with a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice/sociology (2001), a master’s degree in college student personnel (2003) and a master’s degree in business administration (2011).
