The Buffalo City Mission is in need of volunteers for Thanksgiving and Christmas Day.
The City Mission provides dinner (Turkey Express) for 5,500 on Thanksgiving Day. On Christmas, the Mission provides dinner (Ham Bone Express) for 4,000.
Registration for Thanksgiving Day is underway. (Registration for Christmas begins in November.)
There are two options for volunteers interested in serving at the City Mission on Thanksgiving Day:
Option 1: Deliver Hot Thanksgiving Dinner. The time commitment is between 60-90 minutes. Volunteers are responsible for one route. Each team will have a map and receive 5-6 sites for delivery with about 30 meals total. Every 15 minutes, between 8:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m., there are 12 delivery teams being deployed into the community. Bring a friend or the family and share in a time of giving as you meet the needs of others through the Turkey Express.
Option 2: Kitchen volunteers are needed on Thanksgiving morning. Help prepare the meal at Buffalo City Mission on Thanksgiving Day. The time commitment is 7:30 – 10:30 a.m.
Registration is already underway for Thanksgiving Day. It fills up fast so interested volunteers should register for the above volunteer positions by contacting The Buffalo City Mission Volunteer Department at 854-8181, Ext. 404 / Ext. 419.
