The Counseling Center will offer screenings for depression and anxiety on Thursday, October 6 from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. on the second floor of Old Main, in the main lounge. Students will have the opportunity to complete an anonymous survey and meet privately with a counselor to review the results of their screening. This screening offers students insight into symptoms of depression and anxiety that they may be experiencing, and provides information about treatment and referrals, if necessary.

Some of the questions typical of the screening include:

Have you lost interest in activities that you used to enjoy?
Do you have trouble sleeping or eating?
Do you deliberately avoid social situations?
Does your mood fluctuate between “high” and hopeless?
Do you experience unexplained aches and pains?

Faculty and staff are encouraged to refer students who may benefit from this screening. The Counseling Center encourages all students who may be experiencing symptoms of depression and anxiety to participate in the screening.
