Last year, the Core Curriculum Committee (CCC) charged a subcommittee to review the status of the core capstone. The CCC received the subcommittee’s report and forwarded it to the Faculty Senate in May.

On September 9, the senate unanimously passed a resolution stating “the changes proposed by the Core Capstone Committee are substantive changes to the Core Curriculum and require hearings.”  The Educational Policy Committee (EPC) is charged with organizing and facilitating those hearings.

Hearings on the proposed changes will be held on the following dates:

Monday, October 3, from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. in the Regis Room

Thursday, October 13, from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. in the former Faculty Dining Room, on the first floor of the student center.

The hearings are open to all and as stated in the Faculty Senate Constitution “interested parties may submit written or oral arguments.”  Members of the EPC will facilitate discussion, keep a record of the proceedings, and present a report to the Senate.

Please review the attached recommendations and attend the hearings to share your views.  Feel free to bring your lunch—we’ll provide dessert!
