This Sunday, September 25, ArtsCanisius and the Stecher and Horowitz Foundation present pianist Angie Zhang, prize-winner at the 2016 New York International Piano Competition, in a recital in the Montante Cultural Center at 2:00 p.m. The concert is free and open to the public.
Zhang’s performance features music of Franz Schubert and Franz Liszt, as well as a work by Caroline Shaw and a new piece commissioned for the New York International Piano Competition by Lowel Liebermann.
Zhang, who performs internationally as a soloist and chamber musician, is described by New York Concert Review as a “valuable advocate for classical music from her generation.” Zhang is a senior at The Julliard School in New York City and a recipient of the Kovner Fellowship. She serves as chair of the Julliard Student Council.
