The Friends of Hispanic Arts (FOHA) is partnering with MexiCanisius and the Latin American Studies Program for a performance entitled Tango and Much More! on Saturday, October 8 from 8:00 to 9:30 p.m. at the Canisius College Montante Cultural Center. This musical journey, held during Hispanic Heritage Month, will bring Buenos Aires to Montante through the smooth vocals of award-winning tango singer Chris Vasquez and accompanists Moshe Schulman and Moshe Ben Abraham.

Tango and Much More! fills the audience with the enjoyment of familiar songs and a fascination for tangos they may never have heard from Buenos Aires, the birthplace of the tango.

Admission to the event is free for Canisius students and $10 for community members. Tickets will be available on the day of the event in the Montante Cultural Center. For more information and to stay updated on upcoming events, visit the Friends of Hispanic Arts Facebook page.

Chris Vasquez is recognized internationally for his passionate interpretations of the tango.  Vasquez won best singer at The International Tango Music Competition hosted by the NY Consulate of Argentina and was a finalist in the Medellín International Tango Festival.  He continues to delight audiences with his celebrated one-man show, The Son of Tango, about the life of the legendary tango singer Carlos Gardel.
