Shelly began working at Canisius as a cashier in the Student Accounts Office. In September 2007, she moved into her current position as an accounting associate. Among her responsibilities are reviewing and processing budget transfers, purchase order creation, direct pay review, invoice and utility bill payments. Shelly also processes and distributes all faculty and staff parking tags and was instrumental in moving the process to an online platform. Shelly’s excellent organizational skills, careful attention to detail and passion for accuracy have made her a true asset to the Controller’s Office.
She is the mother of two Canisius grads, Michael and Emily, who are both teachers. Shelly also earned her bachelor’s degree in communication studies while working at Canisius. She is an avid traveler who has ventured to Italy, Australia, Mexico, the West Coast including visits to Arizona, California, Oregon and Washington State. Most recently Shelly visited the Dominican Republic. In her spare time, Shelly enjoys cruising local waterways with her husband John on their Pontoon boat, weekend getaways with her sisters, attending concerts and spending time with friends and family.
Did you know…that Shelly saw Elvis at Memorial Auditorium in 1976 (one year before he died) and fully admits she was one of the crazy screaming girls!
