The Canisius College ALANA Art Project program is coordinated through the ALANA Student Center by way of student leadership. Created to enrich the campus by commissioning original cross-cultural paintings to be exclusively on display at Canisius, this effort serves as a symbol of the college’s investment toward pluralism through the arts.
Each original painting took two years of non-stop student leadership. As a result, four original works that are on permanent display in the college’s Andrew L. Bouwhuis Library, in the stairwell and study areas near the lower level of the library.
Commissioned by the Canisius College Latino/a Art Committee and the Friends of the Office of Multicultural Programs, With the Same Rhythm (Con el Mismo Ritmo), reflects elements of the Latino/a culture.
