After the great success of last year’s shredding event, the college decided to have another campus-wide shredding event for college-related materials. This year, changes made to the process will allow the event to be more efficient.

– A secured central shredding location will be used and managed by the Facilities Department.

-This event is intended for Canisius College related material only. No personal shredding material please.

-All material to be shredded must be boxed. We will not be using bins for shredding this year.

-If you need boxes, a Work Order must be placed in the Facilities Work Order system, which is located in My Applications on MyCanisius. Boxes will be delivered to your office by the facilities staff. Please DO NOT call the Facilities Office for boxes, as you will only be referred to the work order system.

-Once your department shredding is boxed, a new Work Order must be placed to have the boxes picked up and moved to the central shredding location. This can be done as soon as everything is boxed. The facilities staff will complete work orders according to their availability and time schedule. Please DO NOT call the Facilities Office for pick-up, as you will only be referred to the Work Order system.

-The cut-off point for work orders to pick up shredding is Friday, May 27 at 3:00 p.m. The Facilities Staff will complete work orders according to staff availability. Please be patient and give them time to get to your department.

-Please note: The central shredding location will be locked and secured by facilities until the date that the shredding company comes to campus.
