Each spring, Canisius showcases student works at the annual Ignatian Scholarship Day. This year, more than 150 students presented their works as posters, research talks, readings, musical performances, artistic displays and other presentations. The both graduate and undergraduate students who participated showcased works in a wide range of disciplines including the arts and humanities, social sciences, education, business, math and science.
The projects themselves ranged widely from explaining programming that the students helped organize to students’ original creative work or research. Many of these works began as class assignments or thesis projects. These presentations often require extensive collaboration between students and faculty or staff members, resulting in some of the closest interactions between the students and their mentors. The opportunity to work closely together and to pursue projects that are personally meaningful to the students demonstrate the magis that is a hallmark of a Jesuit education.
