ArtsCanisius presents the Festival of Ensembles as part of Ignatian Scholarship Day this Friday, April 15.  The concert features the Canisius College Concert Band, Jazz Ensemble, Chamber Orchestra, and Chorale in a performance at 7:30 p.m. in the Montante Cultural Center.  Tickets are $5 general admission and the proceeds go directly to the ensemble budgets.

The Canisius College Concert Band, directed by Paul D. Biddle, will perform works by Smith, Holst and Mozart, which will highlight the flute section in the band.  Dave DeWitt, will direct the Jazz Ensemble in a performance of works by Dominic Spera and Charles Mingus.  The Canisius Chamber Orchestra, directed by Ansgarius Aylward, will perform musical selections by Jean Baptiste Loeillet and a Concerto for Violin and Viola by Karl Philipp Stamitz featuring Kelsey Colwell ’16, violin and violist Amanda Altman ’18.  The program will conclude with Frank Scinta directing the Canisius Chorale in a performance of sacred and spiritual choral works.
