justice-logoJoin the Canisius College JUSTICE Project for the last professional development session of the year!  This session will take place on Wednesday, April 20 from 4:30 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. in the Grupp and Regis rooms in the Student Center.

At this session, teachers will be present results of their inquiry projects that they conducted throughout the year.  Projects will demonstrate the effects of implementing specific positive behavioral interventions and supports (PBIS) strategies in their classrooms.  Other projects will show results of teachers’ use of the Livescribe pen in their classrooms.  This showcase will provide participants with a wide range of information on PBIS strategies and use of assistive technology in the classroom!

We hope to see you there!

Community Supported Agriculture Program

Porter Farms visited campus Friday, April 6 its present its program for worksite delivery program to Canisius. Porter Farms runs a Community Supported Agriculture program (CSA).  A CSA is a group of members who purchase “shares” that entitle them to a season’s worth of produce from Porter Farms.  The farm provides a wide variety of fresh, organic vegetables in a socially and environmentally responsible fashion.

As a shareholder, you receive a bag of 10-12 pounds of fresh, organic vegetables each week of our harvest season. Usually the first harvest is in late June and runs for 22 weeks (to the week before Thanksgiving). More than 40 varieties of organic vegetables are grown. Click here to see a list of produce and approximately what month that produce would be arriving in the shares.

Membership forms need to be completed and returned with payment to Porter Farms no later than May 6. If you enroll and pay by April 15 there is a $20 discount.

If a full share would be too much, those interested may split shares with a co-worker, family member, or neighbor.

If you wish to participate but need to find a person to split a share, please contact Dawn Rotterman at or Ext. 3151 and she will try to pair you with another person who wants to split a share.
