Sara Morris, PhD, to Receive the Kenneth L. Koessler Distinguished Faculty Award

The Office of Alumni Engagement is proud to announce that Sara Morris, PhD, associate vice president for academic affairs and professor of biology, is the recipient of the 2016 Kenneth L. Koessler Distinguished Faculty Award.  Morris will be recognized at Honor’s Convocation on Friday, May 20. The award is given to outstanding faculty members of Canisius College who have made distinguished contributions to the academic world and teaching excellence.

Shoes for Shelter 5k is April 10

The 18th Annual Canisius College Shoes for Shelter 5K, presented by Independent Health, will be held Sunday, April 10. To register, visit www.GoGriffs.com and click on the Shoes 5K icon located at the bottom of the front page. Faculty, staff and students all receive a discount when registering early. Walkers, joggers and runners are all encouraged to join!

A post-race feast is provided by Chartwells, along with a great yogurt bar from the Hyatt Regency.

Approximately 32,000 pairs of shoes have been collected for St. Vincent DePaul, over the many years of the event. Shoes may be dropped off anytime at the Koessler Athletic Center Room 181. For additional information, call John Maddock at Ext. 2977.

Baseball vs Siena Moved to Friday

LumleyDue to the uncertainty of this weekend’s weather, Saturday’s scheduled conference baseball doubleheader, between Canisius and Siena, is being moved to Friday, April 1 at noon. Sunday’s single game is moved to Saturday, April 2 at a time to be determined.

2016 BN360 Game Changers: Round Two, What’s Up Next for Buffalo

The BN360 Game Changers Event, presented by the Buffalo Niagara Partnership, will be held on Thursday, April 7 from 5:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. at the Alliance Advisory Group headquarters located at 600 Delaware Avenue, Buffalo, NY 14202. Canisius faculty and staff can attend free through the Canisius CPD Sponsorship (access code required).

If interested, please contact the Canisius CPD at Ext. 8490 to sign-up.  Space is limited.

Attendees will get an opportunity to meet the movers and shakers who are preserving Buffalo’s local architecture. Register to learn why the balance of evolution and preservation is so imperative to the region and where Buffalo is headed next!
