Canisius College Performance Troupe Poetry Event

performance-troupeCanisius College will host its Performance Troupe on Wednesday, April 6 at 7:30 p.m. in the Regis Room on the second floor of the Richard E. Winter ’42 Student Center. The event is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be served.

Sponsored by the ALANA Student Center (ASC), the Performance Troupe is an ensemble of undergraduate students who interpret and perform selected works of poetry, song lyrics and scenes from plays. Since the creation of the troupe in 1998 by the director of ASC, the works performed are primarily designed and/or selected to bring attention to urban issues, particularly those faced by African Americans. Through their efforts, both individually and as a group, the troupe strives to bring a greater appreciation of cross-cultural literature to audiences.

For more information on the performance, contact the ALANA Student Center at (716) 888-2787.
