Kinesiology Majors Assess Childhood Fitness

IMG_2185The Physical and Health Education Teacher Education (PHETE) program in the Department of Kinesiology hosted students from Stanley Makowski (School #99) and The Falk School Tuesday, March 1 at the Koessler Athletic Center.

IMG_2182PHETE students assessed student fitness levels using the Society of Health and Physical Educators (SHAPE) America’s FitnessGram Assessment, which includes the PACER, push-up, sit-and-reach, and curl-up batteries.  Both schools returned from the fall semester for follow-up testing.  The experience is enjoyable for the children and allows PHETE majors to analyze pre-and post-test data and conduct fitness assessments in an authentic environment.
