Step Up! Griffs is a Department of Student Affairs initiative designed to educate students to recognize, identify and intervene in situations that could lead to sexual violence. This 50-minute program encourages students to assume personal responsibility when they are bystanders or witnesses to a potential sexual assault. Initially presented to the freshman class through the Griff 101 program, the Student Affairs Sexual Violence Prevention Team is looking to expand Step Up! Griffs to classes, student organizations and other areas of the campus community.

To schedule a presentation or for more information about the Step Up! Griffs Sexual Assault Bystander Intervention program, please email Kyle Snyder, the counseling center outreach coordinator, at snyder41@canisius.edu.

At Canisius, we are committed to creating a community based in cura personalis, or care for the whole person. We all have a shared responsibility to become active bystanders, taking care of and looking out for one another. Help us help our students to Step Up! to prevent sexual violence at Canisius.
